When a professor and best selling author cross paths in a mysterious town in search for missing persons, they both soon realize that the area is not what it seems when they discover a horde of evil has inhabited the area as their own.

The innocent writings turns out to soon be anything but smooth. As their relationship grows, so must Harold's charade to keep Amanda from discovering he is a Beverly Hills tour guide and not a hot-shot writer. He promises Amanda a script rewrite and convinces Arthur Blake to represent him. Harold's father is not so easily swayed, and tells Harold to snap out of it, "We show people movie star's homes, we do not date them!" But after hearing a message by evangelist Billy Graham on the radio, Bob has a change of heart and learns to accept the Aboriginal people. Shadow of the Boomerang incorporates the Christian message into cinema. Seeing a person turn and make an active decision to follow Jesus doesn't happen in many films. Many have explored the issues of spirituality, religion and God, yet Shadow of the Boomerang makes it clear that Jesus is the focus, not an ambiguous 'spiritual meaning'.
